Obituary

JUDITH A. "JUDY" REED, 73, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, May 22, 2012 at her home.

She was born in Wichita, Kansas on January 21, 1939 to Marion W. Tolbert and Justine Ione Shaffer. She was raised and educated in Atlanta, Kansas by her mother and step-father, Tom Cline. Judy graduated Atlanta High School in 1957.

She was married to George Chenoweth in June of 1962. To this union, three children were born, Troy, Jill and Toni. The couple later divorced. Judy worked at Boeing Aircraft Company as a Payroll Clerk for many years. She retired in June of 1999. After retirement, she worked for USD 465 in the kitchen.

She was united in marriage to Larry Reed on October 17, 2003. The couple made their home east of Winfield in 2004.

Judy was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting and going to the casino. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Her daughters: Jill McAlister and husband, Delbert of Atlanta; and Toni Nelson of Derby;
Her brothers: Mike Tolbert and wife, Barbara of Wichita; and Jack Tolbert and wife, Mary of Augusta;
Her grandchildren: Kyle Chenoweth, Reba Nelson, John McAlister, Justina Chenoweth, Kelsey McAlister, Brittany Ollenborger, Duke Ollenborger, Travis McAlister and Alicia Kakoulias; and
Her great grandson: Kayden George-Chenoweth.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her ex-husband.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Judy's name for MDAnderson Cancer Center, Breast Cancer Research. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
