Obituary

JUDITH ANN EVANS, 63, of Rock, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, May 26, 2013 at her home.

Born August 24, 1949 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Norman D. and Nellie Mae (Lacey) Barker. She was raised and received her education in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School.

She was united in marriage to Emmett Wayne Evans in 1970 at the Hackney Community Baptist Church. Judy worked for the school district when she was younger, first driving a school bus and later as a custodian. She later became a stay at home mom and home schooled her children.

She was a member of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Church. Judy was the director for the Sparks group in Awanas for 26 years. She was the superintendent of the goat project in 4-H for a long time. She enjoyed crafting gordes and raising her goats. Her love was teaching children in Awanas Club.

Her family includes:
Her husband: Emmett Wayne Evans of Rock;
Her sons: Casey Wayne Evans and Timothy Buck Evans both of Rock;
Her brother: Norman Robert Barker and wife, Sandy of Winfield;
Her grandchildren: Jacob Krueger, Samuel Krueger, Gabriel Mills and Little Bear; and
Her long-time beloved friend: Kay Russell of Winfield.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at CornerStone Bible Fellowship Church. Interment will follow at Wilmot Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Thursday evening, May 30 from 5 to 7 P.M. The family will greet friends during this time.

A memorial has been established in Judy's name for Harry Hynes Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
