Juanita Olive Keasling, 96, of Winfield, Kansas passed away Thursday evening, February 25, 2010 at Cumbernauld Village.
Born December 14, 1913 in rural Cowley County, she was the daughter of Richard M. and Fern O. (Easterday) Rhine. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1932. After graduation she attended Southwestern College in Winfield and then later attended Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City.
Juanita was united in marriage to Wesley R. Keasling on March 29, 1934, in Winfield. The couple made their home in rural Winfield, where they farmed together for many years. Juanita then went to work for the Winfield State Hospital as a Licensed Mental Health Technician, where she remained for over 18 years until retiring in 1979. Mr. Keasling preceded her in death on January 23, 1983.
Juanita was the oldest living member of Grace United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Lady's Church Circle. She enjoyed crocheting, flowers, quilting, and reading.

Her daughter: Linda J. Lovette of Derby;
Her granddaughter: Gail Burkett and husband, Dennis of Arkansas City;
Her grandsons: John Oliver of Amarillo, TX; David Keasling of Douglass;
Her great grandchildren: Jeff Burkett; Jennifer Burkett; Tristan Keasling; and
Her great-great grandchildren: Owen and Bailey Jackson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Juanita was preceded in death by her brother Robley D. Rhine, her sister Anna V. Fleming, and her daughter Kathy Milton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Union Graham Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 to 7:30 that evening.
A memorial has been established in Juanita's name for the Cumbernauld Village Employee Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
