JOSEPH DEAN "COWBOY JOE" SHRADER, 32, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 as the result of a boating accident at Kaw Lake.
Joseph was born April 1, 1980 in Winfield to Pete Fuller and Vicky Sue Blankenship. He was adopted by his father, Howard Shrader at a young age. He was raised and received his education in Winfield.
He worked for several local businesses including Rubbermaid, KSQ and Pizza Hut. He also worked at a donut shop and at Sykes in Ponca City. He married Crystal Cantrell in March of 2003 in Winfield. To this union, one daughter was born. The couple later divorced.
Joseph loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, camping, leatherwork, horses and bluegrass. He especially loved making things and giving them as gifts.

His step-son: Joseph Henry Ortiz of Medicine Lodge;
His mother: Vicky Sue Blankenship and fiance, Phillip Kelley of Newkirk, OK;
His father: Howard Shrader of Ponca City, OK;
His sisters: Amy Kenner and husband, Will of Winfield; and Stephanie Bruner of Winfield;
His half brothers: Dustin Coffey and Shane Fuller of Arkansas City;
His grandfather: Charles Blankenship of Winfield; and
Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, June Blankenship, Yvonne Shrader and Lucille Fuller.
Cremation has been effected. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Joseph's name with the funeral home to help defray expenses. Contributions may be made at Miles Funeral Service.
