Obituary

Johnny D. Durham, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, March 29, 2015 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.

Born October 5, 1930 in Brown, Oklahoma, he was the son of Jewel Jefferson "Jack" and Cora Myrtle (Brown) Durham. He was raised and received his education in Holdenville, Oklahoma, graduating from Holdenville High School. After school he proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Johnny went to work for Halliburton Oil Services where he remained for over 35 years until retiring as a Field Supervisor in 1986.

His family includes:
His wife: Naomi Durham of Winfield;
His son: Terry Durham and wife Carolyn of Winfield;
His daughter: Linda Chase;
His grandchildren: Troy Durham; Angela Durham; Kristopher Chase; Nicholas Chase; and
His 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Mr. Durham was preceded in death by his sister, Joy Epperley.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield.

Memorials have been established in Mr. Durham's name for the American Legion Post # 10 in Winfield, and for the Cowley County Council on Aging. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
