JOHNNIE WHITEROCK, 64, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 28, 2008 at his home.
Born on April 25, 1944 in Cowsprings, Arizona, he was the son of Archie and Mary (Manygoats) Whiterock. He was educated in Tuba City, Arizona at the Tuba Boarding School and later attended trade school in Chilocco, Oklahoma.
Johnnie went to work for Alex Almassy at Liermanns in 1962. He worked there until he became ill in 1995 after 33 years of service. His leatherwork was well known throughout the state.
On December 23, 1966, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Marie Corle at the Burden Baptist Church. The couple made their home in Winfield. Johnnie enjoyed watching T.V., playing cards, and eating out. He just loved to go anywhere. He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting with his good friend Alex, until his health would no longer allow it.

His brothers: John Whiterock, Jack Whiterock, and Richard Whiterock all of Cowsprings, AZ; and
His sisters: Anna Jim; Irean Benally, and Sally Whiterock, both of Cowsprings, AZ.
In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by a very young brother and his older brothers Sam Whiterock and Joe Whiterock.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008, at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
