Obituary

Johnna J. Gallaugher, 73, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her home.

Born August 14, 1952, in Russell, Kansas, she was the daughter of John Wayne and Bobbie Elinor (Small) Gallaugher.  She was raised and received her education in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, graduating from Medicine Lodge High School in 1970.

She married Michael Gene Packard on May 29, 1970, in Medicine Lodge.  To this union, two children were born.  The couple later divorced.  Johnna moved around a lot in her life due to oil field life, until settling in Winfield.  She spent the majority of her life working in retail.  She had numerous jobs including, WalMart, working at area gas stations, and working at a vet clinic for a short time.  She enjoyed gardening, woodworking, collecting antiques and turquoise jewelry, going to the Goodwill, and watching her grandchildren show cattle.  She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her family includes her son William Clay Packard (Sarah) of Winfield; Bobbie Michelle Hays (Loron) of Las Vegas, NV; her mother Bobbie Elinor Gallaugher of Winfield; her brother William Robert Gallaugher (Lois) of Sawyer; Candy Heathman of Colorado; her grandchildren, Taylor Packard, Mia Pizzo, Victorio Pizzo, Robby Pizzo; and her great grandchildren, Daxton Zimmerman and Townesley Hedges.

Johnna was preceded in death by her father John Wayne Gallaugher.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Miles Funeral Service.  Private interment will take place at a later date.

Memorials have been established in Johnna's name for the American Legion Post #10 and Cowley County 4-H.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
