John "Brent" McBride, Jr., 56 of Winfield, KS, passed away at his home Monday morning, August 27, 2018.
Brent was born February 13, 1962 in Winfield, KS. He was the son of John McBride, Sr. and Sandra Sue Tucker. He was raised and received his education primarily in the Winfield area.
Brent was united in marriage to Bambi Bruce on July 23, 1981. The couple was blessed with two children, John and Breann. The couple worked an antique business together for many years in Winfield and Branson, Missouri. They lived a full, happy life together, spending much time with their children and beloved grandbabies. Bambi preceded him in death on April 26, 2015.
In the summer of 2016, Brent met his future wife, Anne Corle, through matchmaking sisters. Brent gained a step-daughter, Sarah, and he and Anne united in marriage on July 10, 2018, in Missoula, Montana. They made a happy life together traveling, building a racecar, and spending much time with family.
Brent strove to make each day as fun as possible, encouraging everyone he knew to do the same, fully believing we are all here for only a short time. He did not know a stranger and had a self-professed "gift of gab." He was knowledgeable in all things antique, enjoyed cooking, playing dominoes, working on his racecar, hunting and fishing, traveling and spending time with family. Above all things, he loved his family. No words can express how much he was loved and how greatly he will be missed.
His surviving family includes his wife Anne McBride of Winfield; step-daughter Sarah Corle of Winfield; son John McBride III (Heather) of Mexico, MO; daughter Breann French (Ryan) of Branson, MO; mother Sue Tucker (Gary) of Winfield; brother Brandon McBride of Winfield; sister Jamie Drake (Matt) of Winfield; grandchildren, Kyla French, Hunter French, and Taylee French of Branson, MO; step-sister Leah Jenkins (Chris) of Arkansas City; step-brother Brandon Tucker of Tulsa, OK; step-brother Ricci Tucker (Barbie) of Winfield; many nieces and nephews.
Brent was preceded in death by his father, his first wife Bambi, a brother, Steven McBride, and a step-brother, Casey Tucker.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Akron Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for family and close friends for Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.
A memorial has been established in Brent's name for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
