Joan V. "Judy" Kukuk, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday afternoon, December 4, 2009 at William Newton Hospital.
Born August 8, 1924 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Roy Frank and Josephine (Hall) Vaughn. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School.
Judy was united in marriage to Leonard C. Kukuk on March 11, 1947 in Winfield. The couple made their home on a farm southwest of Winfield. Judy helped on the family farm as well as being a loving homemaker.
She a member of First Baptist Church in Winfield. She enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, driving her tractor, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her grandchildren: Matthew Hopper of Winfield; Michelle McGinnis and husband, Ash of Winfield; Julie Young and husband, Mike of Holt, MI; Jessica Leonard and husband, Justin of Chicago, IL;
Her great grandchildren: Alicyn and Emercyn McGinnis; Henry, Eleanor, and Abigail Young; Joseph, Aida, and Samuel Leonard; and
Her brother: Richard Vaughn and wife, Norma of WA.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death her brother Allen Vaughn, and her two sisters, Ila King and Donna Leake.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Tannehill Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Judy's name for William Newton Health Care Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
