JO CAROL "JODY" MITCHELL, 57, of Woodland Park, Colorado, passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Born on December 5, 1949 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of B. Francis and Carol (Weinrich) Mitchell. She was raised and received her education in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 1967. She attended Wichita State University where she graduated with a bachelor degree in art history and also one in art education. Jody then moved to Kansas City where she taught as an itenerate art instructor for a year. She moved to Greeley, Colorado and continued her education at the University of Colorado receiving her masters degree in education administration. Jody taught art in the Colorado Springs school district and later was employed for the Sinclair Oil Corporation in management for 25 years.
She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Woodland Park, Colorado. Besides her love for art, she enjoyed the outdoors.

Her brother: Barton F. Mitchell and wife Kristin L. of Winfield, KS;
Her sister: Damaris Lacy and husband David of Lincoln, NE; and
A host of aunts, uncles, cousins and close dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, B. Francis Mitchell in 1991.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M., Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, November 23, 2007.
