Jimmy Jo Rhodes, 54, passed away March 4, 2023, in McPherson.

He was born July 29, 1968 in Arkansas City to Bill Mitchell and Susan Nehring. He was later adopted by his father Dale Rhodes. Jimmy was raised and received his education in Arkansas City, graduating from Arkansas City High School in 1987. He participated in wrestling and football while in high school.

He married Wanda Graham and the couple later divorced. He married Kathy Hammond on March 15, 2008 in Winfield. The couple renewed their vows in 2016 when Jimmy's health began to decline.

Jimmy worked various jobs throughout his life, but his favorite times were when he was employed by the group home in Winfield. He ensured that his "guys" always got what they needed. He loved his Ark City Bulldogs, K-State Wildcats, and Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed March Madness every spring.

His family includes his wife Kathy Rhodes of Winfield; his step-son Ali of Mansfield, TX; son Nathaniel of Tucson, AZ; daughter Alice of Sierra Leone, Western Africa; his father Dale Rhodes and wife, Gladys of Arkansas City; a step-brother Ronny Johnson of Granite, OK; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother Susan Nehring Rhodes and a step brother Tony Johnson.

The family will hold memorial services on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 2:00 P.M., at Central Baptist Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family in Jimmy's name to help defray expenses. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
