Obituary

Jimmy B. Dolch, 75, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Thursday, afternoon, July 28, 2022, at Winfield Rest Haven.

Born December 6, 1946 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, he was the son of Homer and Evelyn (Talley) Dolch. His family moved to Oxford, Kansas, while Jimmy was in the first grade and then to Winfield three years later. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1965. After school he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1968.

He was united in marriage to Janet Fisher on July 4, 1975, at his parents home in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield, where Jimmy worked as a Jet Engine Mechanic at General Electric for over 40 years until retiring in 2008. After retiring he continued working as a subcontractor for many years, at both G.E. and a company in Roswell, New Mexico.

He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Jimmy enjoyed gardening, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

His family includes his wife Janet Dolch of Winfield; his daughter Kandi Marie Dolch and her partner, Monica Huckabey of Winfield; his son Brian Earl Dolch and wife, Brenda of Winfield; his sister Denise Gillespie and husband, George of Winfield; and his grandchildren, Braden Earl Dolch, Bryce Jared Dolch, Tanner Ray Lafferty, Tad Allen Lafferty, and Tatum Leigh Palmer.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Evelyn Dolch.

A memorial service is scheduled at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.

A memorial has been established in Jimmy's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
