Jimmie L. Neal, Sr., 75, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 30, 2021, at William Newton Hospital.

Born August 28, 1946, in Arkansas City, Kansas, he was the son of Delbert Lee and Ailene D. (Hull) Neal. He was raised and received his early education in Arkansas City before moving with his family to Winfield during junior high school. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1964.

Jimmie was united in marriage to Beverly Miller on May 15, 1965, at Tisdale United Methodist Church. The couple made their first home in Winfield where Jimmie worked at Sheneman Meats. In 1972, the family moved to Arkansas City and Jimmie began working at Rodeo Meat Packing Company, where he remained until it's closing in 1990. He then worked at Gordon and Piatt and later Valley Coop in Hackney. In 2006, Jimmie and Beverly moved back to Winfield and Jimmie continued working in the feed mill at the coop until retiring in 2010. He enjoyed team roping, hunting, fishing, and working with his cattle.

His family includes his wife Beverly Neal of Winfield; his sons, Jimmie Neal, Jr. of Arkansas City; Barry Neal and wife, Lorace of Arkansas City; his brothers, Clarence Neal and wife, Karen of Winfield; Tom Neal and wife, Deb of Winfield; his sister Trish Warner and husband, Greg of Haysville; his grandchildren, Katie Gray and husband, Chase of Ponca City, OK; Jacob Neal and wife, Alex of South Haven; Jaclyn Neal of Lyons; and his great grandchildren, Hagen, Maycee, Sophia, and Mason.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at Tisdale Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Jimmie's name for the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
