Obituary

Jimmie L. Feaster, 74, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday evening, June 9, 2020 at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover.

Born January 16, 1946 in Wilmot, Kansas, he was the son of William McKinnley and Nora Lorina (Williams) Feaster. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1965. He then attended Cowley County Community College. While going to school, he worked at the Newkirk Livestock Auction, and began working at Sheneman Meats. Jim married Sharon Feese in 1963 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. To this union, two children were born. The couple later divorced. Jim continued working for Sheneman Meat for many years and eventually joined a partnership that purchased the plant and renamed it Prairieland Processors.

Jim was united in marriage to Pamela Lauffer on October 18, 1981 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas. In 1985, the couple moved to the family farm east of Winfield where Jim enjoyed farming and ranching. In 1982, Jim started Feaster's Construction. In 1983, he and his son, Greg, began Feaster's Deer Processing.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the mountains, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

His family includes his wife Pam Feaster of Winfield; his children, Greg Feaster and wife, Audrey of Winfield; Jeff Feaster and wife, Darla of Olympia, WA; Mike Lauffer and Shandra of Winfield; Melissa Hare and Paul of Oxford; his sisters, Shirley Ross and husband, Bob of Wichita; Donna Martin of Dexter; his grandchildren, Atlanta Hutchins, Ashley Hopkins, Rebekah Feaster, McKinley Feaster, Sharissa Lauffer, Lauren Lauffer, Jaidyn Lauffer, Regan Lauffer, Trinity Hare, Chloe Hare, Jackson Feaster, Hunter Feaster, Callie Helms, Devry Smith, Teran Smith; and his ten great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Feaster, three sisters, Norma Lee Taylor, Joy Cain, and Betty Campbell, and a great granddaughter Aubree Hopkins.

Private family funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Rose Valley Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday, June 14, 2020 from 1 to 4 P.M. The family will greet visitors during this time and asks that you please observe social distancing.

Memorials have been established in Jim's name for Trinity Lutheran School and for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
