Obituary

JIM STHOLE, 60, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday evening, November 11, 2008 at his home.

Born on May 2, 1948 in El Dorado, Kansas, he was the son of Harper August and Iris Mae (White) Sthole, Sr. He was raised in El Dorado and later Winfield where he graduated from Winfield High School in 1966.
He began employment with Binney & Smith Crayola and had been employed there for 31 years at the time of its closing. Jim then attended Cowley County Community College where he received his associates degree in architectural drafting. He was employed for Gordon & Piatt designing boilers and worked until its closing. He worked as a jailor at the Cowley County Sheriff's department until 2006 when he quit due to health problems.

He was united in marriage on November 27, 1982 to Patty Rader-Webber in Winfield where the couple made their home. Jim was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed woodworking and restoring his 1938 Chevy Coupe.

His family includes:

His daughters: Jennifer Cuington and husband Lawrence of Ft. Riley, KS; and Jessica Sthole of the home;
His mother: Iris Sthole of Winfield, KS;
His brother: Paul Sthole and wife Pam of Virgnia;
His sister: Cindy Bonham and husband Lari of El Reno, OK; and
His 2 grandchildren: Cloie and Corden.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Harper August Sthole, Sr., and his brother, Harper August Sthole, Jr.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Jim's name for the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
