Jim Dean Daniels, 81, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026, at William Newton Hospital.

Born February 10, 1945, in Winfield, he was the son of Tom and Nora (Fleming) Daniels. He was raised and received his early education in Winfield before moving with his family to California in 1958. After school, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country.

In 1974, Jim returned to Winfield. He was united in marriage to Andrea Porter in 1977, in Winfield. To this union, a daughter Wendy was born. The couple later divorced. Jim spent the majority of his work life as a sheetrock hanger, working for several area builders. He enjoyed fishing and doing mechanic work. Jim was baptized at Ark City First Assembly of God.

Jim is survived by his daughter Wendy Daniels; and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister Joan Porter and a brother Clay Cantrell.

Private family interment will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.

A memorial has been established in Jim’s name for the Veterans Administration in Wichita. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
