Jesse Barron, 79, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Kansas Veterans Home.

Born June 25, 1944, in Winfield, he was the son of Cecelia Barron.  He was raised and received his education in Winfield, attending Winfield High School.  Following high school, Jesse enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.  He proudly served his country for four years during Vietnam, receiving an honorable discharge in 1975.

Jesse was united in marriage to Diane Kay Schalk on February 28, 1975.  The couple made their first home in California and later moved to Winfield.  Jesse worked various jobs, including janitorial work at a printing company and at different fast food chains.  Diane preceded him in death on October 15, 2011.

He enjoyed cooking and watching sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs.  He loved spending time with his family.

His family includes his sons, Jesse Barron and wife, Leah of Olathe; Chris Barron and wife, Gisela of Olathe; his daughters, Dawn Kelley of Udall; Teresa Kempton of Wichita; Mistina Howe and husband, Tim of Winfield; his sister Gloria Morse and husband, Joe of Belen; his grandchildren, Jessica (Dean) Mayoral, Justin (Deanna) Barron, Josh Barron, Chelsea (Brandon) McNiel, Matthew Barron, Andrea (James) Segebartt, Tony Sanchez, Rachel (Aaron) Burks, Christina (Raymond) Baker, and Jeremiah (Charity) Carver; and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his mother and wife, Jesse was preceded in death by a brother Robert Barron.

The family will hold A Celebration of Life with Military honors at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at The Grove Church in Udall.

A memorial has been established in Jesse's name for The Grove Church in Udall.  Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
