Jerry Noble Venn, 76, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday morning, February 21, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Born June 4, 1944 in Alva, Oklahoma, he was the son of Harvey Noble and Zella (Huff) Venn. He was raised and received his education in Winfield.
Jerry was united in marriage to Stella L. Wilson on May 29, 1964 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple made their first home in Winfield, before moving to Long Beach, California to be near Stella's family. While in Long Beach, Jerry worked for Union Carbine. In 1971, the family returned to Winfield where Jerry made his career as a farmer. In addition to farming, he worked as an airplane painter at Cessna and later, Beech. In 1978, he purchased the family farm where he was raised. Jerry drove truck for Southern LP for over 20 years while continuing to run the family farm.
He was a member of the Church of God in Winfield. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing.
His family includes his wife Stella Venn of Winfield; his children, James
Michael Venn and wife, Janet of Belleville, IL; Monica Bea Venn of Winfield; Jerry Eugene "Todd" Venn and wife, Janell of Amarillo, TX; Jeffery Scott Venn of Wellington; Jasen Owen Venn and wife, Tevra of Burden; his brothers, Curtis Venn of Willow Springs, MO; Jack Venn of Enid, OK; and nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Escamillo and Kathy Moody, and three brothers, Charles Venn, Dennis Venn, and Harvey Venn.
The family will hold memorial services at the family farm at a later date. Services are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
