JERRY LEE PATRICK, 74, of Winfield, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at his home.
Born December 21, 1934 in Flippin, Arkansas, he was the son of Reba (Johnson) and Mark Allen Patrick. He was one of six children.
Jerry attended high school in Flippin and Elkins, Arkansas. He later attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He began work with the Santa Fe Railroad in 1959 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He worked for the railroad for 37 years, retiring in 1995.
He was united in marriage to Raquel Muci in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1960. The couple celebrated 45 years of marriage before Mrs. Patrick preceded him in death in March of 2005. Jerry moved to Winfield in 1966.
His hobbies included fishing, gardening, bird watching, babysitting, reading western novels, and bluegrass music. He attended all but one of the Walnut Valley Festivals in Winfield. He was a lifelong sports fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Kansas Jayhawks.
He was preceded in death by his wife Raquel, his parents and his brothers, John and Kerry.

His son: Mark Patrick of Winfield;
His daughter: Karen Wittrock and husband, Mark of Winfield;
His granddaughters: Micah and Bethany Bell of Salina;
His sisters: Marha Faires, Marilyn Patrick and Jacque Faubus all of Elkins, Arkansas; and
Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Church of Christ Church in Winfield.
A Memorial has been established in Mr. Patrick's name for the Joe Thornton Fitness Center, c/o the Winfield Recreation Commission. Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service.
