Jerry L. Conrad, 77, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away July 29, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center surrounded by family.

Born March 20, 1947, in Winfield, he was the son of Denzil L. and Freda "Peggy" Irene (Davis) Conrad.  He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School.  He attended Wichita State University and received a Bachelor in Secondary Education.

Jerry was united in marriage to Edna M. Shields on May 21, 1981.  The couple made their home in Winfield.  He taught for a short time before changing career paths and becoming a Case Manager for disabled individuals.  Edna preceded him in death on December 12, 2022.

Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church in Winfield.  He loved participating in the Winfield Community Theatre.  He enjoyed singing, watching wrestling, and keeping his mind sharp with reading and crossword puzzles.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

His family includes his sons, Jason (Jennifer) Conrad of Wichita; Kyle Conrad of Winfield; Kevin (Amanda) Conrad of Winfield; Kirk (Tiffany) Conrad of Arkansas City; Kody (Jennifer) Conrad of Winfield; his sister Joyce (Wesley) Parson of Oxford; his grandchildren, Abbiah, Samantha, Eden, Rebecca, Maddalyn, Xander, Emily, Tyler, Denzil, and Trenton; and three nephews and three nieces.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jerry was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cathy Denise.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Winfield under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.  Interment will follow at Tisdale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
