Jeffery S. Morton, 52, of Belle Plaine, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, August 25, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Born June 30, 1963 in Arkansas City, Kansas, he was the son of Howard Lane, Jr. and Patricia (Walker) Morton. He was raised and received his education in Arkansas City. After high school, he attended Cowley County Community College, where he received his Associates Degree in Aviation.
Jeff was united in marriage to Dawn Detwitler on November 7, 1992 in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Arkansas City. Jeff began working in the oil fields for Halliburton. He then worked for Boeing as a Programmer and later Raytheon/Textron. Dawn preceded him in death in February of 1993.
He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rites Mason, and a member of the Shiner's Median Temple. He enjoyed cooking and was very talented in music, playing string instruments, singing and writing songs. He especially loved spending time with his family.

His sister: Monica Kakhki and husband, Sam of Marietta, GA; and
His nieces: Tess and Brooke Kakhki.
In addition to his wife, Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Lane Morton Jr., and Patricia McGuinn.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 31, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
A Memorial has been established in Jeff's name for Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
