Jeannie Peirce Schmidt, 55, passed away in Austin, Texas on August 6, 2016. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1979, and went on to graduate with honors from Emporia State University in 1983, earning her bachelor's degree in psychology and business. She met her husband, Corey Dean Schmidt, at Emporia State. Jeannie was very successful as a publisher and co-business owner with her husband for Tri-Coastal Enterprises, Inc.
Throughout her life and career, she called Sarasota, Naples, Orlando, Austin and Kansas City home. She garnered numerous awards for her hard work throughout the years, including twice winning the Benjamin Franklin "Benny" Award (the "Oscar" of the printing industry). However, her biggest award was the love that she gave out and received from so many people over the years.
She was the proud mother of two children, A.D. Schmidt, 23, and Melody Schmidt, 21. She is also survived by her brother, Tom Peirce, of Winfield, her sister, Terri McDaniels, of Wichita, her father, Jim Peirce, of Winfield and her stepmother, Margaret Peirce, of Winfield. Her mother, Sherri Parmenter, of Winfield, passed away in 2003.
Jeannie's Celebration of Life is open to the public and will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 4:22 p.m. at Miles Funeral Service, 4001 E. 9th Avenue in Winfield, Kansas.
