JEANNETTE J. BROOKS, 28, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, February 28, 2010 at her home.

Born on September 25, 1981 in Widefield, Colorado, she was the daughter of Virgil and Lorraine (Parker) Brooks. She was raised and received her education in Winfield and later attended Cowley County Community College.

Jeannette was a member of Bethel AME in Winfield. She loved music, videos, playing volleyball, eating out and being around family and friends.

Her sons: Ethan Allen Brooks and Marcus Isaac Michael Rock both of Winfield, KS; and Darin McTighe of Estes Park, CO;
Her father: Virgil Brooks of Winfield, KS;
Her brother: Marcus Aaron Brooks of Rio Rancho, NM;
Her sister: Christina Ann Brooks Reyes of Wichita, KS;
Her paternal grandparents: William P. and Sue Jean Brooks of Winfield, KS;
Her maternal grandmother: Judy Parker Kelley of Spanoway, WA;
Her special friend: Matthew Crum of Winfield, KS; and
A host of extended family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine; her sister, Bonita Darlene Parker Vasconcelas; and her maternal grandfather, Harry Parker.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Miles Funeral Service. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 8, 2010. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., that evening.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Jeannette's name be made to help the family defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home or Cornerbank.
