Jean Lewis, 82, of Douglass, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018.

Jean was born in Peru, Kansas to Dale and Eldora (Norris) James. She married Don Lewis on May 26, 1958 in Arkansas City. Jean taught third grade in Douglass for 37 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Merle, and her sister, Glenna Gumb.

She is survived by her husband Don; sons, Galen (Mary) Lewis of Omaha, NE and Burke (Renee) of Newton; daughter Luana Lewis of El Dorado; sisters, Ruth (Duane) Guy of Topeka and Bobbie (Kent) Moore of Cunningham; grandsons, Colter Lewis and Tyler Crow; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Jean's name for the Douglass Senior Center. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
