JANICE SUE WELLS, 65, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home.
Born August 18, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Allen N. and G. Earlene (Long) Nelson. She was raised and educated in the Winfield area, graduating from Winfield High School in 1966. Janice attended local junior colleges and received her Certified Professional Secretary certificate.
She worked at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center in Purchasing and in Records and was the Dietary Administrator when they closed. She then went to work for Martin Luther Homes, now Mosaic and worked in the office. During this time, she was also an Avon Sales Representative for over 22 years.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. When she was younger, she enjoyed painting and doing latch hook as well as many other things. Janice enjoyed collecting Thomas Kinkaid items and angels of all kinds.

Her brother: Randy Nelson and wife, Linda of Kansas City, KS;
Her sisters: Judy Nelson and Lori Fleenor and husband, Bob, all of Winfield; and
Her 4 grandchildren: Dylan Payne, Alex Payne, Jacob Wells and Gage Payne.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private inurnment will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
A Memorial has been established in Janice's name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
