Janet I. Craig, 74, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 9, 2019 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Born January 15, 1945 in Independence, Kansas, she was the daughter of Ray and Freda (James) House. She was raised and received her education in Liberty, Kansas, and graduated from Coffeyville High School in 1963. Following high school, she attended Southwestern College in Winfield, and then nursing school, becoming a Registered Nurse.

She was united in marriage to Charles Craig on November 8, 1969 in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield, where Janet worked as a Registered Nurse at William Newton Hospital until the birth of their first child. She was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed cooking for and caring for her husband and children. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends, shopping, attending family reunions, and going to the casino.

Her family includes her husband Charles of Winfield; her sons, Kevin Craig and partner, Johanna Rochon of Winfield; Wesley Craig of Winfield; brother Perry House of Altamont; and several nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery northwest of Winfield. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.
