Obituary

JAMES H. WILLIAMS, 97, of rural Udall, Kansas, went to be with his Lord, Thursday morning, June 27, 2013 at his home.

Born on July 14, 1915 in Udall, Kansas, he was the son of Elda and Clara (Conner) Williams. He was raised and educated in Udall and began working on the family farm at a young age.

James eloped to Kingman, Kansas with Irene Maxine June on January 12, 1937. They farmed around Udall and made their home on her familys' farm. Mrs. Williams preceded him in death on July 24, 2010.

He was a member of the Heritage Church in Udall, the Udall Coop and Farm Bureau. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, crocheting and macramé until December of 2000 when he suffered a stroke.

His son: Donald Williams and wife Phyllis of Abingdon, VA;
His daughter: Darlene Nelson and husband Ronald of Udall, KS;
His grandchildren: Donald Williams, Jr. and wife Holly, Carl (Sonny) Cooper and wife Stephanie, Denny Willis and Etta Long and companion Joaquin Rios;
His great-grandchildren: Twins Aaron Cooper and wife Jessica and Allen Cooper and wife Alice, Anthony Patterson and companion Samantha Jo, and Hailey Long;
His great-great-grandchildren: Anabel Owens, and Avarie, Payton and Sophia Cooper, and Korbin and Kaylin Patterson;
His step-grandchildren: Joy Knowles and husband Kent, Tracey Bolte and wife Amy, Billy Joe Melton, Belinda West, and Heath Satterlee;
His step-great-grandchildren: Katelyn Herrod, Jackson & Zackery Bolte; and
His step-great-great-grandchildren: Kevin West, Tommy West, Mariah West and MaKayla West.
In addition to his parent and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Williams; his sister, Goldie Houser; his granddaughter, Andreia Lanae Williams; his great-granddaughter, Kayla Marie Patterson; and his step-grandson, John Bland.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 1, 2013, at the Heritage Church in Udall. Interment will follow at the Udall Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, June 20, 2013. The family will greet friends during that time.

A memorial has been established in Mr. Williams name for the Heritage Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
