Obituary

James Robert Peirce, 80, of Winfield, passed away Thursday morning, February 28, 2019 at his residence.

Jim was born July 14, 1938 in El Dorado, Kansas, one of three children to Robert Thomas and Anna Pearl (Reid) Peirce. He grew up on the farm in rural Butler County, Kansas where he enjoyed playing, fishing, and learning how to work hard, which he carried through his whole life. Jim received his early education in a little school on the prairie and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1956. In his early working career, he worked on the dairy, gas stations, the air craft industry and finally landed at Gas Service in El Dorado. He went on to be stationed out of Burden and served towns all throughout south central Kansas until he retired. He was an extremely hard worker over the years and was always doing extra work on the side, like remodeling a rental house or working insulating homes with his business partner Richard Wells, that owned W & P Insulation Co. He later owned Jim's Home Repair. He was a man that loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Jim was united in marriage to Sharon (Sherri) Kay Jameson; they made their home in Burden and were blessed with three children. They later divorced.

On June 13, 1980, Jim married his sweetheart, Margaret Seyb. They moved to rural Winfield where they would make their home together. They enjoyed time together as they would go places to visit and see family and friends. They also enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the birds and nature and sharing many stories with each other. They were truly meant for each other

Jim is survived by his wife Margaret of the home; his sister and brother, Margie Burns and husband, Gary of El Dorado; and Ray Peirce and wife, Carol of Hesston; his son Thomas Peirce and wife, Rocio of Winfield; and his adopted daughter Terri McDaniels and husband, Phil of Derby; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anna, his daughter Jeannie Sue (Peirce) Schmidt, and his grandson David Robert Lawrence.
