James R. Fallier, 87, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas.
Born June 26, 1930 in McPherson, Kansas, he was the son of Joseph F. and Gilda H. (Walker) Fallier. He was raised and received his education in Syracuse, Kansas, graduating from Syracuse High School in 1949. After high school, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Syracuse. In 1954, he married Donna Davis. To this union three children were born. The couple made their home in Syracuse and in 1957 moved to Cleveland, Ohio where James became Art Director for the American Greeting Card Company. In 1967, the family returned to Syracuse, where James continued his love of art as an independent artist. Donna preceded him in death in 1995.
On October 23, 2010 he married Alice Shaffer. The couple made their home in Wichita. In addition to his artwork, James enjoyed horses and hunting.

His daughter: Susan Dreiling and husband, Tim of Udall;
His sister: Barbara Fallier of Page, AZ; and
His 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and first wife, James was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Fallier and seven siblings.
Graveside funeral services and Military Committal Honors will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established in James' name for the Summit Church Honduras Mission Feeding Station for Children. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
