Obituary

Jacob Nettrouer, 38, of Cambridge, Kansas, passed away Sunday evening, February 23, 2020 at his home.

Born February 15, 1982 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, he was the son of James Glen and Rhonda (Epperson) Nettrouer. He was raised on the family ranch and received his education in the Dexter area. While in school, Jake loved playing football and training horses. He graduated from Dexter High School in 2001. Following graduation, he moved to Florida, where he worked training horses. He later returned to Cambridge, Kansas and went to work in the oil fields. During this time, he made several lifelong friends.

Jake attended Cambridge Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding horses, going to bluegrass festivals, and being outdoors, living off the land. He especially loved his children, and nieces and nephew.

His family includes his children Markus and Lillyan Nettrouer of Shidler, OK; his mother Rhonda Nettrouer of Arkansas City; his brothers, Luke Nettrouer and wife Leah of Cambridge; Chris Nettrouer and wife, Larissa of Winfield; his grandmother Mable Ulbrich of Seneca, MO; his nieces and nephew, Laney and Emma Nettrouer, and Landon and Charli Nettrouer; and several aunts and uncles.

Jake was preceded in death by his father Jim Nettrouer and his paternal grandfather JR Nettrouer, and his maternal grandparents Sterling and Novelle Epperson.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
