Jacob Lockyear, 27, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at his home.

Born August 2, 1993 in Winfield, he was the son of Allen D. and Mary L. (Williams) Lockyear. He was raised and received his education in Winfield. Jacob was homeschooled his last two years of high school and graduated from Springhill High School in 2011. After high school, he went to work for Quality Outdoor Designs as a landscaper.

In 2013, Jacob returned to school at Cowley County Community College where he received an associate degree in Machine and Tool Technology, graduating in 2015. He then began working as a machinist for Vector Tools. Jacob was currently working in the Milling Plant for Kellogg Coop.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed working on anything mechanical, riding his Harley, and shooting weapons.

His family includes his parents, Allen and Mary Lockyear of Winfield; his brother Nicholas Lockyear of Winfield; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Gladys Lockyear, and Chuck and Jan Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 18, 2020 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Jacob's name for the Winfield Food Pantry. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
