Obituary

Jacob Lee Davis, 42, of Arkansas City, previously of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, July 23, 2024, at his home.

Born October 16, 1981, in Winfield, he was the son of Mark and Michelle "Shelly" (Green) Davis.  He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 2000.  He married Ronna Ward and the couple had two children.  They later divorced.  He married Teresa Moody and had a son and later divorced.

Jake worked at Wendy's during high school.  He worked for CCL/Capper Foundation for over 11 years.  It was there that he met his wife, Kasie Hushaw.  The couple made their home in Arkansas City.  Jake later worked in security at First Council Casino and at Husky Liners.  He was currently working for Twin Rivers Developmental as a caregiver.

He was a member of Timber Creek Friends Church.  He loved all things Marvel, comics, movies, action figures, etc.  He also enjoyed legos, karaoke, and drawing and painting.  He especially loved spending time with his children.

His family includes his wife Kasie Hushaw of Arkansas City; children, Alexandria Willard of Colorado; Massey Davis of Wichita; Sierra Davis of Oxford; Desiree Shockley of Arkansas City; Loggan Davis of Milan, TN; father Mark Davis of Burden; paternal grandmother Charlene Davis of Winfield;  maternal grandmother Correne Green of Wichita; brothers, Jonathan (Hilary) Davis of Wichita; Jesse (Emily) Davis of Eagle Point, OR; aunts and uncles, Jill and Tom Metzger of Kansas City; Wesley and Jennifer Davis of Galena; Donna and Garrett Sandell of Marco Island, FL; Shelly Jo Bergland of Branson, MO; mother-in-law Kathleen Marie Whatley; his nieces and nephews; and soon-to-be grandson Dawson Eugene Oliver.

Jake was preceded in death by his mother Shelly Davis, a brother Sgt. First Class Jared Davis,  his paternal grandfather Don Davis, and maternal grandfather Galen Green.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 29, 2024, at Miles Funeral Service.  Interment will follow at Timber Creek Cemetery east of Atlanta.  A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, July 28, 2024, from 2 to 6 P.M.  The family will greet visitors during this time.

A memorial is being established in Jake's name for his new grandson, Dawson.  Contributions may be made payable to Desiree Shockley and given through the funeral home.
