Obituary

Jackie Diane Spencer, 62, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday evening, February 24, 2018 at William Newton Hospital.

Born October 5, 1955 in Winfield, Kansas, she was the daughter of Harley and Betty (Nichols) Hoyt. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1974. In December of 1972, she was married and to this union two children were born. The couple later divorced.

Jackie was united in marriage to Ron Spencer on December 18, 1981 at the First United Methodist Church in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield and became very active in drag racing. Jackie worked at Gordon and Piatt and Rubbermaid before going to work in the parts departments at Musson Auto Parts and Winfield Motors. She later worked at William Newton Hospital in Admissions before transferring to Central Supply where she worked until retiring in 2007. In addition to drag racing, she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her family includes:
Her daughters: Tiffany Rowe and husband, Mark of Collinsville, OK; Peggy Venn of Winfield; Donna Venable of Winfield; Angela Reed and husband, James of Palestine, TX; Miranda Reed of Owasso, OK;
Her dad: Harley Hoyt of Winfield;
Her sister: Harlene Hoyt-Johnson and husband, Scott Johnson of Winfield;
Her brother: Rex Hoyt and wife, Sheila of Leon; and
Her 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Hoyt.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Jackie's name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
