Obituary

JACK R. WILCOXEN, 49, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday morning, May 16, 2014 at his home.

Born January 10, 1965 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Jerry L. and Glayda D. (Toothaker) Wilcoxen. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1983. He then attended Cowley County Community College, graduating with an associates degree.

Jack worked at TG&Y while attending high school and college. After school he went to work as a Certified Nurse's Assistant for the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center. He later went to work for Southwind Rescare and was currently working for the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. Jack enjoyed trivia, sports, and especially the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.

His family includes:

His mother: Glayda Wilcoxen of Winfield;
His sister: Teresa Myatt of Oxford;
His brothers: Roger Wilcoxen of Winfield; Thomas Wilcoxen of Pond Creek, OK;
His step-children: Danielle Fullhart of Winfield; Cody Fullhart of Winfield;
His step-grandchildren: Trayten and Emma McGathy; and
Numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Memorials have been established in Jack's name for the Winfield Public Library and for the Gunner Schultz Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
