Jack Owen Finley, age 87, of Winfield, passed from this life on October 1, 2018 at Winfield Senior Living Community.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Grandview United Methodist Church. Private family interment will take place at Akron Cemetery prior to the service. A visitation is scheduled for Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Jack's name for Grandview United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Jack was born August 7, 1931 to Bertie Dennis and Mabel Vera (Henry) Finley. He was a 1949 graduate of Winfield High School. He married Ruth Orine Ireton on March 12, 1950 and together they celebrated over 59 years of marriage. They were blessed with two sons and daughter.

For more than 30 years, Jack owned and operated the Akron Garage, serving the farmers and ranchers of the surrounding area, keeping their vehicles and equipment in good repair. Following his retirement from Akron Garage, he moved to Rock Creek Ranch and maintained the ranch equipment for another 20 years.

Jack attended Grandview United Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed fishing and being with family in his spare time.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth of 59 years, and a brother, Virgil Finley.

Survivors include two sons; Richard, and wife, Sharon, Winfield; Rex, and wife, Nancy, Winfield; one daughter, Cathy Hamlin, and husband, Steve, Winfield; two sisters, Dora Burris, and Jenny Powell, brother, Albert Finley, and brother-in-law, Jim Ireton. Grandchildren are Jane Barker, and husband, Zach; June Neal, and husband, Eric; Joy Vetter, and husband, Tarl; Jo Ann Jones, and husband, Mark; Renae Piper, and husband, Jon; Aaron Finley, and wife, Chanda. Great grandchildren are Baylee Barker, Jake Neal, RaeLynn Neal, Abe Piper, Ezra Piper, Mazie Piper, Jude Piper, Bo Piper, Eli Finley, Benjamin Finley, and Laura Finley.
