IVAN E. NULIK, 85, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday night, July 31, 2013 at the Kansas Veterans Home.
Ivan was born on October 14, 1927 to Edward and Agnes (Jenista) Nulik on the family farm west of Caldwell, Kansas, the eighth of five sisters and three brothers. He attended country school and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1947. He lost his father at an early age, so farmed with his brother Joe and then also with his other brother, Carl upon his return from the service.
On August 17, 1947, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Coady. To this union three sons were born, Pete, Jeff and Andy. Ivan was drafted into the Army, trained with the 101st Airborne at Camp Bretkenridge, Kentucky, served 18 months in Germany and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. After returning home from the service, Ivan and Norma Jean built their first home in Anthony with the help of family and friends. Ivan worked at Dials KT Service until 1962, then was manager of Klepper Oil Co. At the same time, he and Norma Jean moved to her family farm east of Anthony. He farmed and ran the station until 1973, when he quit Klepper Oil and started a dairy. In 1983, they sold the dairy, moved into Anthony and Ivan managed the Anthony Farmers Coop Station and Farm Store in Harper until he retired in 1990. He and Norma Jean then moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma and then to Winfield, Kansas.
Ivan was a member of the American Legion Post #10, VFW Post #3544, was a Past Master of the Anthony Masonic Lodge #200, Past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star in Anthony, Past President of Harper County Shrine Club and member of the Wichita Median Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Carl Nulik, Joe Nulik and Edward Nulik, his sisters, Gladys Metz, Lorraine Fogleman, Algie Smrcka, Ann Salibury and Edna Krenek, and an infant son, Leslie Nulik.

His wife: Norma Jean of Winfield;
His sons: Pete Nulik and wife, Stephanie of Winfield; Jeff Nulik of Anthony; and Andy Nulik and wife, Cherie of Biloxi, Mississippi;
His 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 5, 2013 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Spring Grove Cemetery in Anthony, Kansas.
Memorials have been established in Ivan's name for the Kansas Veterans' Home and for the Shriners Hospital for children. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
