Ila Mae Asbury, 85, of Winfield passed away Wednesday morning, October 22, 2008, at Winfield Resthaven.
Born on May 15, 1923, in Booker, Texas, she was the daughter of Walter and Coris Vesta (Baker) Kester. She was raised and received her education in Cambridge, Kansas, graduating from Cambridge High School.
Ila Mae was united in marriage to Orva "Tom" Asbury in Renton, Washington, on November 5, 1968. The couple made their home in Burden. Mr. Asbury preceded her in death on January 28, 1975.
She worked as a housekeeper for many years in the Winfield area. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Ila Mae enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and collecting jewelry and porcelain dolls.

Her brother: Wilfred Kester of Pryor, OK;
Her sister in law: Hildreth Kester of Pryor, OK; and
Her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ila Mae was preceded in death by her twin sister Ina Belle Kester, and her five brothers Harold, Gerald, Wilman, Melvin, and Warren Kester.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at The Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Burden Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday evening from 5 to 9. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 8 that evening.
A Memorial has been established in Mrs. Asbury's name for the Central Baptist Church in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
