HOWARD L. MORTON, Jr., 72, passed away at his home in Winfield, Kansas on February 24, 2011.
He was born in Arkansas City, Kansas, to Howard L. Morton, Sr. and Edith Irene (English) Morton on September 4, 1938. The family operated the Stateline Café and Filling Station. Howard graduated from Geuda Springs High School.
He was united in marriage to JoAnn Dentmon. She preceded him in death. Howard retired from the Department of Corrections as a boiler operator. He was an avid fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast.
He leaves behind:
His four sons: Howard Morton III, Jeff Morton, Jody Dentmon, and heath Dvorak;
His four daughters: Monica Kakhki, Lesley Hall, Patty Fabrick, and Cindy Dentmon; and
His 20 grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 3:30 P.M.
