Howard Lane Morton, III, 53, of Belle Plaine, Kansas, passed away Tuesday evening, August 25, 2015 at his home.
Born October 12, 1961 in Arkansas City, Kansas, he was the son of Howard Lane, Jr. and Patricia (Walker) Morton. He was raised and received his education in Arkansas City. After high school, he attended Cowley County Community College, where he received his Associates Degree in Business. He later attended Wichita State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree on December 23, 2000.
Howard went to work in the oil fields for Halliburton. He then worked for Boeing as a Machinist, and later owned and operated a water filtration company. He recently became an ordained minister.
He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rites Mason, and a member of the Shiner's Median Temple. He enjoyed cooking, sports, fishing, hunting, gardening and reading. He especially loved spending time with his family.

His nieces: Tess and Brooke Kakhki.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 31, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
A Memorial has been established in Howard's name for Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
