Helen Wilson, 84, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, March 2, 2016 at her sister's home.

Born November 24, 1931 in Harrison, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Walter and Bertha (Gay) Flippo. She was raised and received her education in Harrison.

Helen was united in marriage to Corbet C. Wilson on May 10, 1947 in Harrison, Arkansas. The couple made their home in Harrison until 1959 when they moved to Udall, Kansas. While living in Udall, Helen enjoyed being a waitress at the Udall Café. She later went to work for the City of Udall and retired as the Assistant City Clerk in January of 1997. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death on December 6, 1996. In November of 2005, Helen moved to Winfield.

She was a member of the Udall Nazarene Church. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, playing board games and bowling.

Her family includes:
Her sons: James Wilson and wife, Patty of Knightstown, IN; Tom Wilson and wife, Micki of Udall; Bill Wilson and wife, Linda of Udall;
Her daughter: Darlene Englebright and Bill Ward of Oxford;
Her sister: Betty Brannan of Winfield; and
Her 16 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Wheeler and Jewel Edmonson, two brothers, Walter Flippo, Jr. and Raymond Flippo, her oldest daughter, Linda and three great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Udall Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Monday evening from 4 to 8. The family will greet visitors during this time.

A memorial has been established in Helen's name for the Udall Nazarene Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
