Obituary

Helen L. Fleenor, 88, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, March 31, 2021 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

Born March 24, 1933 in Cherryvale, Kansas, she was the daughter of Henry Lewis and Mabel Mae (Barker) Mishler. Helen married Ray Fleenor on September 28, 1952 in Cherryvale. The couple made their home in Winfield in 1968. Helen worked in the meat department and deli in various grocery stores as well as was an Avon lady for several years. She enjoyed customized cake decorating for years as well.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray in 2014, five brothers, Harold, Frank, Francis, Carl, and Arthur Mishler, four sisters, Margaret Moore, Betty Pogue, Thelma Richardson, and Shirley Barnes.

She is survived by:
Daughter Stella Lankton and husband, Steve of Winfield, and their children, Heather Daerr and husband, Travis of Garden Plain; Jeremy Lankton and partner Ivy LaClair of Winfield; Steven Lankton of Wellington; grandchildren, Tranden Daerr, Teagen Daerr, Rory Lankton, and Lucy Lankton;
Son Bob Fleenor and wife, Lori of Winfield, and their sons, Shane and Kyle Fleenor, and daughter Amy Biby and husband, Cameron; grandchildren, Breanna, Lucas, Patrick, and Bethany Biby, and Trent, Hailey, and Zach Fleenor;
Son Tim Fleenor and wife, Susan of Winfield, and their children, Christopher Fleenor of Winfield, Scott Fleenor and wife, Jordan Thomas of Trinidad, CO, and Samantha Fleenor of Winfield; grandchildren, Christopher Fleenor, Jr., Sophie Fleenor, and Marley Askins;
Son Mark Fleenor and wife, Kam, and their children, Joseph Fleenor and wife, Hannah of Winfield, Alicia Dory and husband, Taylor of Burden; grandchildren, Brooklyn Dory, Serena Fleenor, and Ethan Fleenor;
Two sisters, Dorothy Cole of Independence; Ruth Mishler of Coffeyville;
Two brothers, Harry Mishler and wife, Peggy of Wichita; Dale Mishler and wife, Evelyn of Independence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Private interment will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at a later date. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 5 to 6 that evening. The family requests all attendees please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

A memorial has been established in Helen's name for Autism Speaks. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
