Obituary

Harold Stanley McGregor, 92, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, October 23, 2013 at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield.

Born August 10, 1921 in South Haven, Kansas he was the son of Floyd and Viola (Kufus) McGregor. He was raised and received his early education in South Haven. While he was in High School the family moved to Cedar Vale, Kansas where he graduated from Cedar Vale High School.

Harold was united in marriage to Glorine Johnson on October 24, 1942 at the Johnson Ranch near Cedar Vale. The couple made their first home in Cedar Vale. Harold then joined the United States Army Air Force, where he proudly served his country in World War II as an Aircraft Mechanic. Upon his honorable discharge from the service he returned to Cedar Vale where he began farming. The family later moved to Kansas City where Harold worked remodeling homes. The family would later travel due to work, and would end up in Wichita where he began working for Boeing as a Jet Aircraft Mechanic, and later at McConnell Air Force Base. Finally they moved to Winfield where they began farming south east of town. Harold remained a farmer until retiring in 1987. After retiring the couple moved to Cedar Vale where they lived out the rest of their married lives. Glorine preceded him in death on January 29, 1997.

He was a member of the South Haven and later the Cedar Vale Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his family.

His daughters: Winifred Nash and husband, Stan of Bath, MI; Carol Melugin and husband, Leon of Chegrin Falls, OH; Becky Rierson and husband, Roger of Leon;
His brothers: Charles McGregor and wife Mildred of Edmond, OK; Don McGregor of Edmond, OK; Ron McGregor and wife, Wilma of Bend, OR;
His sister: Cora Ritter of Winfield; and
His 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas. Interment will be held at 2:00 P.M., at Ozro Falls Cemetery, east of Cedar Vale. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday October 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 P.M. The family will greet visitors at that time.

Memorials have been established in Harold's name for Cumbernauld Village, and for Harden Hospice in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
