Lloyd Trent

Harol Lloyd "Lloyd" Trent, 87, joined his wife Margaret in the presence of his Savior on Friday, September 16, 2022.
He was born on February 7, 1935; the fourth of four children born to Carl and Helen (Hanson) Trent in Mitchell, South Dakota. He was raised and educated in Arkansas City, attending Roosevelt Elementary School, Arkansas City Junior High, and graduating from Arkansas City High School in 1954. He immediately joined the workforce. He also enlisted in the National Guard.
On June 6, 1954, he married his forever love Margaret Dempsey. They settled in their hometown and started a family.
He was an electrician by trade and over the years worked in various places including, Teter Electric, Wright Burton Hardware, Dixie Portland Flour Mill, Santa Fe Railroad, before he retired from Binney & Smith. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he attended for many years.
In his later years of retirement, he enjoyed "ride abouts" with his wife, spending time with family, doing crossword puzzles, watching old westerns and enjoying the simple things life had to offer.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Margaret, his parents Carl and Helen Trent, his older siblings: Donald (at birth), Donna (Oleson), and Hazel "Peggy" (Hadicke), his son-in-law Roger "Biff" Chase, and a great grandson Spencer Chase.
He is survived by his three children, Shelby Trent Pappan Chase (Rick Eastman), David Trent (Traci) all of Arkansas City; Dirk Trent (Jennifer) of Austin, TX. His legacy includes 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Hope Cemetery west of Arkansas City under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
A memorial has been established in Lloyd's name for the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
