Obituary

Hae Khuesy, 75, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024, at William Newton Hospital.

Born June 1, 1949, in Laos, he was the son of Chanehom and Khouth Khuesy.  He was raised and received his education in Laos.  He later served five years with the Laos Army.

He was united in marriage to Oum on April 15, 1971, in Vientiane, Laos.  His family spent a few years at a refugee camp in Thailand before being sponsored by a Catholic church in Minnesota and coming to the United States in 1980.  Hae's first job was painting picnic benches for $1.25 per hour.  He became a U.S. Citizen on August 6, 1999.

Hae worked in production at Rubbermaid.  He retired as a Line Supervisor after over 27 years of service.  He later did many odd jobs including doing lawn and landscape for Cowley County Community College.

His family includes his wife Oum Khuesy of Winfield; his son Khamkert Khuesy of Tempe, AZ; his daughter Christine Khuesy and husband, Tommy Nguyen of Overland Park; and his grandchildren, Lily Khuesy, Leilani Khuesy, Luke Khuesy, LaRenn Khuesy, Xada Khuesy, Lincoln Khuesy, and Zuri Khuesy.

Buddhist funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Cremation will follow at Reflection Pointe in Wichita.  A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 P.M.
