GUY CARTER, 63, of Atlanta, Kansas passed away Thursday morning, January 20, 2011 at his home.
Born on November 1, 1948 in Rogers, Arkansas, he was the son of Vernon and Sibyl Carter. He was raised and received his education in Kingston and graduated from Kingston High School in 1964. He was employed as a truck driver and worked in machine shops while living in Joplin, Missouri. Guy later moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he was employed at Boeing Aircraft in the tool and dye department. He lived in Newton, Kansas before moving to Winfield, Kansas. He has resided in Atlanta since 2006.
Guy enjoyed spending with his family, fishing and hunting.

His sons: Paul Carter of Bentonville, AR; Chad Carter and Alex Carter both of Winfield, KS;
His daughter: Darcie Townsend of Garfield, AR;
His brothers: Loy Carter of Springdale, AR; Joe Carter of Marble, AR; and Virgil Carter of Anderson, MO;
His sister: Donna Kemper of Wichita, KS; and
His 9 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Melissa; his brother, Doyle Carter; and his sisters, Joyce Carter and Hazel Hughes.
A visitation will be held at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. A family interment will be held in Kingston, Arkansas.
A memorial has been established in Guy's name for Rivercross Hospice in Wichita. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
