Gregory Dean
Wadleigh
December 2, 1954 – April 19, 2021
Gregory Dean Wadleigh, 66, went to his eternal home in the arms of his Savior April 19, 2021.
Greg was born December 2, 1954, to Robert and Virginia (Howe) Wadleigh. He was the middle sibling with an older brother, Brent Wadleigh, and a younger sister, Paula (Wadleigh) Hansen. Greg grew up in Cambridge, Kansas and graduated from Burden Central High School in 1973.
Greg was a man of multiple God given talents and ran his own business the majority of his working life. He started his stone masonry business around 1979 and sustained that business until 2010. He was a master stone mason, and his work is displayed not only throughout central Kansas, but also in Colorado, and was even published in Log Home Illustrated, Better Homes and Gardens, and Architecture Design Magazine. Greg also enjoyed woodcarving, and created many amazing works of art, including a commission that even went to a Saudi Arabian Prince.
December 5, 1981, Greg married Tammy Parmenter in Grand Junction, Colorado on top of the Colorado National Monument. After being united in marriage, Greg and Tammy grew their family by two with the addition of their daughter Amy and son Andy. After over 39 years of marriage, Greg and Tammy had finally settled into their forever home, which was custom built by him with the help of his children and many friends and family in Arkansas City, Kansas. In addition to finishing their forever home, Greg was able to fulfill his dream and goal of making sure that his wife and his family had a spiritual connection and relationship with God, that he always desired for them to have. He was a hard worker, was passionate about making sure his family was provided for to the best of his ability, and always trusted that God would come through where he could not.
One of Greg's final desires and special mission from God, was to be a testimony and to write and teach about the connection that he had with God so that others could experience and embrace the same connection. In this journey, multiple great fellowship meetings have and are taking place at Ark City First Assembly of God where the doors were opened wide for Greg to be able to fulfill that mission.
Greg had many things that he loved to do, but we will name a few. He loved to go hunting for rocks of any shape, color, or form. It did not really matter; it was the hunt that made it fun. He also loved to go on scenic drives and trips with his wife, enjoying the beautiful world around him. His many different art projects were always amazing and treasured by those that knew him. He found great pleasure in the outdoors and nature by going on hikes, fishing, or looking for a wild looking piece of wood that he could use in his next project. The thing Greg loved to do the most was to share the love of God, belief in His Son Jesus Christ, and testimony of all that God has done in his life with others.
Greg was preceded in death by his mother Virginia (Wadleigh) Trogdon and stepfather Glen Trogdon, He is survived by his wife Tammy, two children Amy Jewett (Curtis), Andy Wadleigh (Stephanie), two grandchildren, Allyson and Waylon, his brother Brent Wadleigh (Sarah), sister Paula Hansen (Steve), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends that he dearly loved.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at Ark City First Assembly of God Church. Private family inurnment will take place at Cambridge Cemetery at a later date. Services are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
