GLORIA E. TOPPER, 63, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday afternoon, May 22, 2009 at Via Christi/St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Born on November 26, 1945 in Fresno County, California, she was the daughter of Albert Rojas and Betty (Haley) Graham. She was raised and received her education in Winfield.

She was united in marriage on December 2, 1963 to Stanley Topper in Winfield where the couple made their home. Gloria had worked at the Whitehall Manor in Winfield as an aide. She later worked for Binney & Smith, Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Sonic Drive Inn. In 1986, Gloria began employment for USD #465 where she was district copy coordinator.

She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church. Her hobbies included bowling, gardening, fishing and tending her fishpond. Gloria also enjoyed riding motorcycles, entering her Convertible in car shows, driving in demolition derbies and her 3 chihuahuas.

Her daughter: Avis Sadre and husband Jimmy of Phoenix, AZ;
Her brothers: Harold Graham of Wichita, KS; Clyde Graham of Derby, and Dennis Nussbaum of Derby, KS;
Her sister: Sammie Graham of Wichita, KS;
Her grandchildren: Ashley, Bryce, Bryon, Tavis, Kelly, Jayla, Stanlisha, Danee, Amber, Alec and Aryanna; and
Her great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Jacob, J'Niya, Julian and Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 26, 2009. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., that evening.

A memorial has been established in Gloria's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
