Glenda D. Smith, 67, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.

Born August 31, 1958, in Winfield, she was the daughter of Lowell and Lois Yvonne (Newbold) Smith. She was raised and received her education in Burden, graduating from Central High School in 1976. She attended Cowley County Community College and Wichita State University.

Glenda married Dale Dobbs and the couple had two daughters, Alicen and Holly. The couple later divorced. Glenda worked many years at Binney & Smith Crayola Factory.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching college basketball, was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved to bake. She made the best pies. Glenda just enjoyed life and loved the Lord.

She is survived by her daughters, Alicen Dobbs of Ponca City, OK; Holly (Jason) Hale of Burlington, IA; her brothers, Mike (Suzi) Smith of Burden; Bob (Hui Son) Smith of Winfield; her grandchildren, Daniel, Hannah, Jesse, and Addyson; her great grandson William; and nephews, Brandon Smith of Burden; and Robert Smith, Jr. of Richmond Hill, GA.

In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by a niece Jessica Lee Smith.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Burden Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. A lunch for family and friends will follow at First Baptist Church in Burden.

A memorial has been established in Glenda’s name for First Baptist Church in Burden. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
