Obituary

Glen Leon Lanier, 76, of Winfield, passed away Sunday night, May 3, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Glen was born in Winfield, Kansas to Clarence Eugene and Ruth Ella (Lawrence) Lanier on August 18, 1943.  He was raised and attended school in Winfield before moving to Liberal, Kansas during his high school years.

After graduating high school in Liberal, Glen enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for a short time before returning to Winfield.

Glen was united in marriage to Verlin Kastle on July 4 th , by his dad, Clarence, in the family's home.  Glen worked for Beechcraft Aviation for 32 years.

Glen enjoyed wood carving, knife making, drag racing, motorcycles, pick-ups, jewelry making and German Shepherds.  He raised and trained several dogs during his life, but his last and most loved was Brutis.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents.

His family includes his wife, Verlin Lanier of Winfield, and several cousins.

A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Mount Vernon Cemetery southeast of Atlanta, Kansas.

A memorial has been established in Glen's name for the Cowley County Humane Society.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
