Gladys Mae Kerr, 90, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, March 29, 2016 at her son's home in Winfield.
Born November 30, 1925 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Clyde and Etta (Hindman) Gordon. She attended grade school and high school in Cedar Vale, Kansas, graduating from Cedar Vale High School.
She was united in marriage to Earl G. Kerr on December 27, 1950 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. The couple farmed and ranched near Dexter, Kansas until Earl's death August 22, 1983. Gladys was a member of the Methodist Church in Cedar Vale and attended the Free Methodist Church in Winfield. Most recently, she attended Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. During WWII, she worked at Boeing. She later worked at William Newton Hospital for a short time in the 1970's.

Her sons: Lincoln C. Kerr and wife, Linda of Winfield; Martin L. Kerr and wife, Johnna; Robin D. Kerr and wife, Maria of Winfield;
Her daughter: Paulette R. Rush and husband, Alan of Winfield;
Her brother: Bill Gordon of Owasso, OK;
Her sisters: Iola Pettigrew of Dexter; Carolyn Gordon of New York; and
Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was preceded in death by her son, David L. Kerr, two brothers, Robert "Bob" and Francis "Curly" Gordon and a sister, Marian Langius.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield. Interment will follow at Cedar Vale Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 2 to 4 that afternoon.
Memorials have been established in Gladys' name for Grace United Methodist Church and for Wreaths Across America for the Kansas Veterans Cemetery. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
